Retirement

January 17, 2022

Dear Patients and Families,

It is with mixed emotions that I announce my upcoming retirement from the practice of Pediatric Ophthalmology at the end of February 2022.

Caring for you, my patients, has been the most rewarding part of my 36-year medical career. I have come to know many of you and your families as friends, and I am honored that many of you have asked me to care for two, and even three, generations of your families. My husband and I are now looking forward to retirement together and to the next phase of our lives, including helping with a new grandchild on the way.

I recommend that you begin looking for a new ophthalmologist as soon as possible. We are fortunate to have many good ones in the area, but contact your pediatricians, AAPOS or one of the many physician referral services online for suggestions.

Update regarding records as of July 2022: Chicago Records Management is now the custodian of all patient medical records. For a copy of your medical record, please contact them directly at 847-678-0002 or e-mail at request@chicagorecords.com.

It has truly been a pleasure to serve the North Suburban and Chicagoland community for so many years. I am honored that you have allowed me to provide for your pediatric ophthalmic healthcare needs. As I begin this new chapter of my life, I extend my hope and desire for the good health and happiness of you and your family in the future.

Best wishes,

Minou W. Colis, MD
